Den/Office/Study/Library

This poor room has had its name changed a few times. When you walk up the steps, you enter into a small room and there are 2 bedrooms off to the side. When I lived in a house with a similar set up in college, we called this area then "den." The family who lived here before I did had a desk in this area, making it seem a bit more like an "office." When I got my appraisal back, the paperwork referred to it as a "study." I decided I liked the name "study" because it sounded so important for such a small room. Finally, when some friends came to look at the house, one decided that because the room has built in bookshelves, it was obviously a "library." Since library sounded even more extravagant than study, the name stuck. I'm not done with this room, and I have a lot of ideas for it, but recently I finally got it organized enough that it's able to be used.

This is how the room was setup prior to purchasing it. I painted the room grey (of course) and repainted the trim and the ceiling. I took down the mirror and added my desk and hutch that was still at dads. I bought a small filing cabinet at Office Depot and filled up the bookshelves (pretty quickly.) This is how it looks now!

I love having my license displayed and a few other small touches. It's a small space but it's very functional. Still needs a few things, but it's off to a good start!
