Warmer weather. Flowers. Spring rain. Flip flops. Not hauling a coat everywhere. Who doesn't love April? And, if you were wondering, I'm not just saying that because my birthday falls in April. However, as much as I love April, it is always, always, always, TOO BUSY.
Apparently turkey season starts in April, which, up until 4 years ago, played no role in my life. Fast forward to life in Kentucky, and suddenly this means I cannot, must not, shall not schedule my boyfriend for anything prior to 10:30 a.m. on the weekend. This also shatters any late night plans on Friday or Saturday (see previous comment about it being my BIRTHDAY. For more on this, ask me about the time I hung out with Blake Shelton instead of my boyfriend for my birthday.)
April begins wedding season. Now, this year, I have the honor of being a bridesmaid in one of my best friends weddings. To give you an idea of my weekends in April, the day of the wedding I'm missing a crawfish boil we go to every year, a friends husbands party, a Jr League event I'm on the committee for, and a 5K I wanted to run. Don't get me wrong, there's no where else I'd rather be than standing in her wedding, but 5 things going on in one day?! Ridiculous! Throw in "on-call" weekends, spring cleaning, house hunting, and your run of the mill daily tasks and by the time Monday rolls around, I'm ready for another weekend!
At the end of the day, I'd rather be busy that bored, but 4 straight weekends of plans can wear a girl out. And looking at my planner? May isn't shaping up to be any less hectic.
