Pure Copper Moscow Mule Mug with Copper Shot Glass by Kitchen Classique

I HAVE WANTED ONE OF THESE FOREVER!!!

Anyway...a few months back I got on a "Crabbie's Ginger Beer" kick after trying it at a local bar. For anyone who hasn't ever had ginger beer before, it basically tastes like Ginger Ale with alcohol. It's a very crisp, refreshing drink. After drinking it for a little while, people started to recommend some other drinks with ginger beer, the two most popular being a "Dark & Stormy" (ginger beer with a shot of rum) and a Moscow Mule (ginger beer with a shot of vodka served in a copper mug). Everyone who recommended the Moscow Mule emphasized it MUST BE IN A COPPER MUG. Some said it tasted better, other said it's just part of drinking a Moscow Mule..just like drinking wine from a wine glass.

There are a lot of fun stories about Moscow Mules online. Of course, there's no way to know which ones are true. Some say the drink was started when the owner of a ginger beer company and a vodka company were sitting next to each other in a bar. The recipe is supposed to have come from these two men and the bartender. The story goes on to say that one of these men began the marketing of the Moscow Mule by going from bar to bar to sell the idea, recipe, and ingredients required. At each stop he would take a picture of the bartender holding a copper mug. The bartender kept one copy to be displayed at the bar, and the salesmen took the other copy to prove to the next bartender just how popular their drink was. Naturally when this arrived in the mail....I had no Ginger Beer. Time for a trip to the liquor store! Half a hour later, I have Ginger Beer and a lime..the vodka was already in the freezer. :)

So the mug...are there really benefits to the copper mug? My first impression is yes. It insulates really well and I think it kept my drink cold longer. The ice seemed to melt VERY slowly..and by slowly, I mean there was still ice left when the drink was gone. :) Also, I think it helps keep the drink carbonated. It was very fizzy.

Why THESE copper mugs? Well, there are a couple reasons. The company boasts that these are 100% pure copper mugs. Also, it comes with a copper shot glass for a "blemish-free" drink. It's a pretty good sized mug (16oz) so there was plenty of room for my drink, ice and lime.

If you're interested in purchasing one of these (and you should be), you can purchase them on Amazon by clicking here. Also, they have a 90 day money back guarantee so if you don't love your copper mug, they'll refund your money! Try it out! **I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review!***
